Top interior design trends for 2022
What interior trends do we like from 2022?
With home interiors changing often, over the past few years furniture design and interiors schemes have changed quite a lot. Although interior designers do not tend to follow trends, many designers design a space for the client and will add a twist of their style of the decor.
Green Tones:
You may have noticed that the colour green has been 'the' colour of 2022. Whether it is soft furnishings, natural elements like indoor plants, green wall art or bold patterns, green is being added everywhere. This trend has been inspired mostly from biophilia becoming a biophilic design trends. It is particularly trendy for people to add green with statement lighting, cushions or sofas but also adding lots of nature and live plants. Natural materials and textures:
There has been a big rise in using natural materials inside your home this year. A extremely popular texture that is often used now is boucle. Boucle is a French word meaning "curl". Boucle is a head weight and wool-like fabric which is looped, giving it that curly look. Another natural material that is being incorporated into spaces lots is marble. Especially in kitchens, large pieces of marble are a wow-factor in a room and adds a luxury and natural element to a kitchen. As well as these, organic materials are being used in home decor. Decorative objects have become very natural too with rustic woods, coloured glass and a lot of clay or ceramics.
Curved Edges:
Living spaces this year have steered away from visual comfort, with the typical geometric and rectangular shapes of furniture design and layouts. Although clean lines and segmentation of areas in a room is aesthetically pleasing, this is only because it is the norm. Interior design trends are teaching home owners and interior designers to be bold and do something out of the ordinary. Rounded furniture is one of the top interior design trends, where spaces are more interesting and eye-catching. Statement Lighting:
A great way to add character and personal style into your home without adding new furniture and decor, is adding sculptural and statement lighting. Often a statement light adds an ambiance lighting tone to the room rather than the main light. If your space has lots of natural light flowing in then a statement light is all that is needed. Popular design choices this year are metal accents and antique metallic finishes are very popular finishes, making the light eye-catching.
