Join SWD
SWD is a family-run luxury brand specialising in bespoke doors, architectural joinery and furniture for some of the most exceptional residential projects in the UK and internationally.
Working with leading interior designers, architects, developers and private clients, we combine craftsmanship, technical expertise and highly personalised service to deliver completely bespoke solutions for high-end homes.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Sales Specialist to join our team and take ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to order, production and completion.
This is a key commercial and technical role within SWD. You will manage client relationships, develop specifications, prepare quotations and ensure every project is commercially sound and technically correct before being released into production.
If you understand doors and joinery, enjoy working with clients and have an exceptional eye for detail, this is an opportunity to take ownership of high-value projects within a growing luxury business.
The Role
As Sales Specialist, you will become the key point of contact for your clients, managing their projects from initial conversation through to completion.
You will balance sales, technical specification and project coordination, ensuring every detail has been considered before an order reaches our factories and suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing incoming enquiries and developing detailed project briefs
- Building strong relationships with clients, designers, architects and contractors
- Preparing accurate, detailed quotations and proactively following opportunities through to order
- Managing your sales pipeline and contributing towards commercial targets
- Reviewing surveys, drawings and site information
- Confirming door designs, dimensions, wall thicknesses, reveals, ceiling heights and clearances
- Specifying door leaves, frames, glazing, finishes and ironmongery
- Understanding and confirming FD30, intumescent, PAS24 and other relevant performance requirements
- Coordinating bespoke paint, stain, veneer and specialist finish specifications
- Reviewing ironmongery including hinges, locks, backsets, flush bolts and associated certification
- Sourcing and reviewing supplier quotations
- Protecting project margins and ensuring pricing meets company targets
- Liaising with our factories and suppliers throughout the drawing and production process
- Reviewing production drawings against agreed client specifications
- Coordinating closely with our Production, Quality and Operations teams
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and clear internal handovers
- Identifying potential issues before they reach production or site
- Helping us continually improve the way our Doors division operates
Ultimately, you will take ownership of ensuring every order you manage is accurate, commercially viable, technically compliant and ready for production.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with commercial confidence and excellent client communication.
Ideally, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, ideally within doors, architectural joinery or a related sector
- Strong technical knowledge of doors, door sets and ironmongery
- Experience with fire-rated doors and associated compliance requirements
- Confidence interpreting architectural drawings, technical drawings and site information
- Commercial awareness, including quotation preparation and margin management
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence managing multiple high-value projects simultaneously
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- A genuine commitment to quality and getting the detail right
You will be process-driven, commercially minded and naturally organised, with the confidence to take responsibility for your projects and the judgement to know when something needs challenging before it progresses.
Experience within the luxury residential market would be advantageous, but finding someone with the right technical knowledge, commercial mindset and approach is most important to us.
Why SWD?
You will be joining an ambitious, growing family business where quality, design and service genuinely matter.
We offer:
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Opportunities for progression and career development
- Generous paid leave package - typically 34+ days per year, including 20 days’ annual leave, public holidays, paid Christmas closure and your birthday off.
- Company pension

- Regular company events and a friendly, outgoing team culture
- Luxury showroom and office environment
- On-site kitchen and coffee facilities
